ABOUT JEREMY KNOPOW

Jeremy Knopow has spent the past 25+ years crafting new user experiences through design, engineering, and entrepreneurship. He is a named inventor on 170+ patents for products that have generated +$3 billion in revenue, while continually looking for purposeful ways to apply his cross-functional and user-centered innovation experience. After working for multiple Fortune 100 companies and inspired by his late father’s battle with ALS, Knopow co-founded Motivo, Inc. in 2012 to reinvent the world of mobility aids. Motivo has since raised +$13 million to fund their launch and has been steadily scaling ever since. Knopow\'s background includes creating and leading the new business Incubation Group for SC Johnson charged with discovering and proving out category expansive +$100 million new opportunities, all the way from market identification and quantification through user research, technology sourcing, prototyping, engineering, design, and pilot scale manufacturing. Knopow also lead R&D for Base of Pyramid initiatives in developing countries tasked with improving environmental, health, or economic issues through self-sustaining solutions, including work on sanitation related pediatric health and malaria remediation in conjunction with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Prior to SC Johnson, Knopow was the Manager of Industrial Design for Fiskars charged with rebuilding their ID department and 400+yr old brand equity. Prior to that he held the role of GM for Kohler Company where he created their 1st new business unit in 90 yrs. from the ground up, Kohler Mobile Plumbing. This new business unit created self-contained bathrooms and related products for categories including luxury, industrial, and military. Kohler Mobile Plumbing originally grew out of an initiative to support the rescue workers following 9/11 at Ground Zero with self-contained hot shower facilities that Knopow lead the creation and delivery of in a little more than a week following the attack. Knopow has guest lectured around the world on user-centered design and continues to teach new business development as an Adjunct Professor at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. Besides his patents and business revenue, Knopow’s work has garnered numerous awards including the prestigious IDSA Catalyst award for his 9/11 mobile showers that he shared that year with Apple’s IPod. Knopow holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MFA in Industrial Design. In his free time he enjoys running Ultra trail races (50mi+), Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and trying to keep up with his 2 young children.
