Jeremy Smith serves as the Director of Operations for the Garnet Trust, a marketing agency for Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL). In this role, he is instrumental in connecting Gamecock student-athletes with fans and businesses to create NIL opportunities. Smith plays a key part in maximizing athlete earnings and fostering brand growth, working to ensure that student-athletes are compensated for their name, image, and likeness through various avenues such as media appearances, autograph signings, event attendance, product endorsements, and social media engagement. He emphasizes working with athletes to align them with brands that match their interests and preparing them for life after college by providing resources in financial planning, tax advisement, and branding assistance. Under his leadership, the Garnet Trust has established itself as a significant entity in the NIL space, officially partnering with South Carolina Athletics in July 2023. He has also been involved in strategic partnerships, such as the collaboration with 1801 Media and the merger with Carolina Rise, aimed at enhancing the company\'s reach and effectiveness in supporting South Carolina student-athletes across all sports. Smith\'s work contributes to the Garnet Trust\'s mission of building a unique, built-to-last, and effective NIL entity that benefits both athletes and the broader community.
