Spearheaded research efforts, developed computational pipelines, mentored trainees.Involvement:• Improved clinical relevance of post stroke pain research by developing a preclinical mouse model and characterizing the emergent pain behaviors and imaging the induced neuroinflammation• Characterized neurovascular coupling during seizures by performing simultaneous in vivo optical imaging of brain vasculature and in vivo electrophysiology in freely behaving mice• Coded analysis pipelines in MATLAB, FIJI, and Python to analyze fluorescent images, electrophysiology, and animal behaviors | Generated 6 pipelines, 3 with guided user interfaces, and one using a deep learning model• Refurbished a multiphoton microscope by re-aligning optics and testing hardware, including the femtosecond laser, Pockels cell, electro tunable lens, and translation motors• Served as subject matter expert on in applying optical techniques and performing computational analysis• Coordinated research efforts with collaborators and mentored students in research study design • Key contributor in grant submissions to government and private funding organizationsAwards:• 2024 IOP Publishing Outstanding Reviewer Award• 2024 UCSF Post Doc Slam Finalist• 2023 Gladstone Institutes Scientific Leadership Award• 2023 Bob & Melinda Mahley Career Advancement Award• 2023 UCSF Pain and Addiction Research Center Fellowship, under Dr. Jeanne Paz | “Establishing a new mouse model of chronic central post-stroke pain after thalamic ischemic stroke”• 2022 Berkelhammer Award for Excellence in NeuroscienceOutput:• 1 publication (PMID: 39••••60), 5 publications in preparation• 5 presentations at conferences and invited talks
