I am currently the VP of FP & A, Expense Management, and Capital Management for Sun Life US. In this roll, I am responsible for reporting and analysis of our financial results which includes expenses and capital.I previously was AVP Financial Planning & Analysis. In this role, I supported the Stop Loss business unit with reporting of financial results, variance analysis, actuarial modeling, financial planning and business development including mergers & acquisitions (M&A).During my career, I have concentrated mostly on the actuarial pricing side, but have developed expertise in financial modeling and reporting, reserving, valuation, data management and analysis. I was the data leader on several modeling projects which included extraction of data, transformation, data quality testing and reporting.Using the relationships that I have established with other functions, I have been a key contributor in setting strategic direction of the business, implementing process improvement and improving quality of data.I have experience in many lines of business including personal and commercial lines P&C and group life and health. I also have experience in reinsurance on both P&C and L&H.Outside of Sun Life, I am the pastor of my church. In this role, I preside over the worship services, preach, coordinate schedules, and delegate tasks to others. Part of the role is to provide ministry to those in need.I am also the website developer and administrator of 4 websites including grandriverconference.com and hoopstournament.net. These websites involved knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP, and MySQL to build the databases. In addition, with grandriverconference.com, I have developed relationships with coaches, athletic directors, and media to help enhance the content of the websites.
