Technology is my passion. For over 25 years, I have provided expert technical skills in software development to small and large organizations. My focus has been in the areas of software development, software architecture, computer security, cryptography, and sustainable development practices. I have successfully led teams that provided important social services to millions of underprivileged citizens, developed systems to protect data using state of the art cryptography, built systems that move vast quantities of food and retail products through the supply chain, used smart cards to provided security and protection for critical data, and provided core online services used by an entire university on a daily basis.But I am not limited to technology. I will eagerly join in on discussions of corporate strategy, product direction, graphics design, or marketing strategy. My strength is my broad base of experience and interest. I have a knack for pulling seemingly unrelated disciplines together to produce the best solutions. I excel at taking the myriad ideas of a team and synthesizing them into a coherent vision that is achievable, sustainable, and will keep your ideas moving forward.I believe that growing engineers and teams is about more than just knowledge. There is a moral imperative, as leaders, to help others grow and thrive in the technology field. This is especially important for underrepresented groups who have not been given the opportunities to excel in the technology space. This is more than a passive effort and all technology companies must make active efforts in the DEI area.I believe that technology has and will continue to change the world we live in.    I lead the software engineering organization responsible for Device Trust at 1Password. I oversee multiple distributed engineering teams building the platform that ensures only secure, compliant devices can access an organization\'s apps - spanning zero trust access, device posture checks, fleet inventory, end-user self-remediation, and security compliance across macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android. Grounded in a servant leadership philosophy, my focus is on cross-team coordination and delivery, fostering team health and engagement, and hiring diverse, talented engineers and managers.Device Trust is built on the principles of Honest Security; the idea that effective endpoint security should be rooted in transparency, informed consent, and a positive relationship between security teams and end users, rather than surveillance and coercion. The platform helps organizations close the gap left by traditional IAM and MDM tools by ensuring that every device, including unmanaged, BYOD, and contractor endpoints, meets security and compliance requirements before accessing SSO-protected applications. Rather than silently monitoring or locking down devices, Device Trust educates and empowers end users to self-remediate issues on their own, without filing IT tickets. The platform integrates with major identity providers like Okta and Microsoft Entra ID and offers a library of over 100 pre-built security checks. Companies like Databricks, Discord, Robinhood, Anduril, and Clio rely on Device Trust to maintain fleet compliance while treating employees as capable, trusted partners in security.
