About Jeremy Susac
Highly motivated attorney with broad legal expertise in economic and environmental regulation of land, energy, water, and wastewater. Currently responsible for state and federal government affairs for one of America\'s leading home builders that entails substantial advocacy before the state legislatures, regulatory agencies, and office of the state\'s governor and its executive branch functions. In addition, carries hands-on experience with land use issues related to land development regulations, the clean water act, impact fees, housing ordinances, infrastructure siting, cost-in-aide-of-construction, undergrounding of transmission/distribution lines, wetlands mitigation, the economic regulation of water/wastewater, telecommunications, and project management. Also, possesses strong understanding of all aspects of government, including but not limited to, the legislative process, local land use determinations, administrative proceedings, judicial court system, regulated entities, and executive branch functions. Equally strong understanding of regulated markets and regulated industries with particular expertise in the economic and environmental regulation of energy and environmental permitting: Florida’s Power Plant Siting Act, Public Utilities Policies Act as it relates to ‘avoided cost’; the Energy Policy Act of 2005; Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007; State Implement Plans and certain sections of the Clean Air Act (§108; §109; §110 §112; §202, and §211). Judicial experience as a summer clerk for a New York Supreme Court judge, and carries hands-on legal private sector experience in administrative proceedings, commercial litigation, construction law, contracts, leasing agreements, consumer law, regulatory law, and energy. Previous experience in the public sector, including but not limited to, working at the PSC, DEP and Executive Office of the Governor.
