ABOUT JEREMY SUMMERS

I specialise in advising businesses and senior executives on issues involving action by criminal or regulatory enforcement agencies in the UK and internationally.Admitted as a solicitor in England and Hong Kong, I have over 30 years\' experience of dealing with complex cases in both jurisdictions. My work involves representing clients at all stages of the process from dawn raids and arrests, through to negotiating plea agreements and defending clients at trial. I also provide compliance training and advice.I have significant experience in all aspects of business crime including bribery and corruption, fraud and financial crime, insider dealing, revenue offences and money laundering. Recent work has included:* Acting for an AIM listed leading high street food retailer in relation to self-report to the SFO * Successfully representing a director of Sarclad Ltd (the UK\'s second DPA) ensuring no prosecution resulted where proceedings were taken against co-directors.* Representing the owner of a leading sports team in relation to an FCA market abuse investigation. strategy deployed saw FCA discontinue criminal angle to the inquiry.* Assisting a former Rolls-Royce commercial director in multiple SFO\'s interviews and ensuring no action taken against him.* Acting for a formal global head of compliance at a leading international bank in relation to an on-going SFO fraud investigation.* Successfully representing a UK pharmaceuticals director resisting US extradition proceedings.* Liaising with contacts at law enforcement agencies to assist businesses that have been the victims of crime.I am noted in the leading independent legal directories and regularly comment on business crime issues in the leading print media and live broadcast programmes. I co-author the chapter on corruption in the OUP publication Fraud: Criminal Law and Procedure.I additionally head the OC sports group having significant experience as a sports arbitrator. I am one of three solicitors appointed to chair the UK\'s National Anti-Doping Panel and have been a Judicial Officer for the RFU, European Professional Club Rugby and World Rugby for over 15 years. I also undertake work for the Football Association and Sports Resolutions in addition to being on the judicial panels for the Lawn Tennis Association and European PGA Tour.
