About Jeremy Herschaft
I am an in-house attorney with Chevron\'s global Shipping, Supply and Trading teams, with 19 years of prior experience as a nationally recognized commercial litigator at two large U.S. corporate law firms. I enjoy assisting a variety of Chevron Business Units with mitigating their complex legal risks, developing creative solutions to their dynamic challenges and capitalizing on their commercial strengths. When not practicing law, you can find me participating in running events around South Texas and hiking with my family along Buffalo Bayou in Houston.

My current areas of expertise at Chevron focus upon all aspects of the marine supply chain, including- the drafting and negotiation of charter party and energy commodity trading and supply contracts, including time, voyage and bareboat charters, COAs, crude and refined product sale agreements, bunkering contracts, bills of lading, and other marine related commercial projects-international arbitration and complex commercial disputes; particularly under NYSMA and LMAA Rules- international tanker and marine terminal operations, and management of demurrage claims-Marine insurance matters, with prior secondment to a member of the International Group of P&I Clubs- serving as a thought leader on new maritime lower carbon regimes (EU-ETS and Fuel EU Maritime); and - Jones Act, OFAC compliance, and sanctions-related issues, including “Dark Fleet” vetting of all tanker classes-Additionally, I have extensive experience with global incident response and internal + white collar investigations (over 100 vessel boardings to date as point shipboard counsel).
