ABOUT JEREMY GEFFIN
Supplier quality is not a job that receives glory or praise, but one that brings me immense self-pride and satisfaction. My team plays a crucial role in protecting our company’s brand identity. By finding and mitigating risks before they mature into problems, we allow others in the company to remain blissfully ignorant of crises that have been averted. My work is largely leadership-oriented and international in scope. Through the coordination of engineers and analysts in America, China, and India, I ensure the successful completion of complex product development projects. I rely on a strong foundation in quality and engineering. I started my career immersed in metrology where I learned about measurement technologies and the precision capabilities of different manufacturing processes. I then progressed to learning quality tools and supporting product development projects. This led to focusing on process improvement, which included improving product development procedures and engineering standards. I still draw on all of these skills every day.Outside of project work, I seek out continuous improvement opportunities. Never satisfied with the status quo, I look for inefficiencies and take the initiative to fix them. When I find a prospect for improvement, I educate myself on the topic so I can approach it as an expert. I then fix it, train others to incorporate the solution, and serve as a subject matter expert going forward. By working to improve the company, I also cultivate my own growth and education. Ensuring that continually high quality product is made at overseas plants is challenging. Because it is not possible to regularly be onsite or to oversee every new build, we depend heavily on audits. I am experienced at auditing new production builds and conducting comprehensive plant audits. For these audits, as well as the rest of my quality work, I use my manufacturing expertise in: Materials: Brass, zinc, plastic, stainless steel Forming Processes: casting, forging, injection molding, stamping, machining, polishing, buffing Decorative Finishing: electroplating, decorative brushing, PVD coating, organic coatingLooking forward in my career path, I’m excited to utilize my engineering experience as I grow in new leadership capacities.
