Oversee servicing and management of the entire $24 billion dollar CRE portfolio including the active management of our concentration limits. The result has been a deeply diversified portfolio across all property types with more than annual covenants.Chair weekly new deal screen meetings. Role in meeting is to opine on the quality and structure of each opportunity presented to the committee. Built a team from the ground up dedicated to market analysis, underwriting, and portfolio management. The two-deep 20+-person team includes managing directors who reported directly to the GPM who complete more than annual reviews and amendments per year.Assist line-of-business in understanding real estate fundamentals for potential multi-million dollar loans, particularly in the apartment, office, retail, and industrial sectors.Create quarterly metro-level market reports given to the operating committee. Each report includes both CRE data and economic data analyzing the health of the CRE market for a dozen metros. Develop a market analysis template that is attached to every deal memo that includes both CRE and economic data. The result has been underwriting to market historical average vacancies and more robust comp sets. The volume has been more than 600 templates created in the first nine months.Helped create the bank’s new UW templates that better management credit risk and more precisely underwrite new CRE deals. Ownership of the template retained by GPM with quarterly updates made for continuous improvement.Manage the bank’s relationships with REIS and CoStar, the main sources of market information for the analysts and RMs.Attend quarterly credit policy committee meetings in order to suggest any changes to credit policy that the CRE group sees necessary. To date the biggest change made has been to overhaul the annual sponsor review process. The result has been a more efficient and relevant sponsor review process.
