Electrification of the transportation and building sector is inevitable. The question that we face is how do we accommodate for these emerging new loads on the electrical system to maintain reliability and resiliency. Similar to integrating solar photovoltaic systems, I see this electrification effort as both a challenge and an opportunity for the electric industry whether it is to meet the customers’ request to electrify or identify opportunities on the grid to incentivize early adopters.I specialize in modeling and simulation of electric distribution systems to assess the electrification opportunity to either prioritize infrastructure investments in areas with constrained assets or to incentivize electrification in areas where access capacity is available.
