ABOUT JEREMIAH OTERO PIERSANTE

I seek to apply my knowledge of atmospheric phenomena and numerical weather prediction models in industry to analyze natural catastrophe risk. Between my time with the University at Albany, SUNY and Colorado State University, I have over five years of research experience studying simulations of high impact tropical cyclones and verifying forecasts of thunderstorm environments. I hope to join a cohesive, collaborative team that values communication, performance, and inclusion. Currently, I create and analyze numerical weather model simulations (e.g, WRF, MPAS) to learn about the tropical cyclone diurnal cycle and its impacts. Data analysis (visualization and statistical computation) is done primarily through Python and Linux. It is my fourth year as a PhD student at SUNY Albany, following two years as a Masters student at Colorado State University. I expect to obtain my PhD in the summer of 2024. See more:
