About Jeremiah Marsden
Business Owner and Leader with a foundation as a Synthetic Organic Chemist.As the owner and President of Cascade Chemistry for 9 years, Jeremiah grew a small R&D and Manufacturing company from 5 to 75 employees and expanded the company’s footprint with new research and development lab space and a state of the art GMP Manufacturing facility. During this time, he doubled the gross profit of the company, increased revenue by >10X, and successfully sold the business to Actylis (formerly Aceto).After the acquisition, Jeremiah stayed with Actylis for two years as Senior Vice President of Global R&D while he developed and implemented a global strategy for each of the 7 manufacturing sites. During this time, he was a part of the CEO’s core executive team and participated in all board meetings. Jeremiah continues to consult with the company.Prior to ownership of Cascade Chemistry, Jeremiah was an employee at the company for 8 years as a synthetic R&D chemist where he gained critical skills in synthesis particularly towards pharmaceutical process development. Jeremiah continues to maintain his chemistry knowledge and experience by reviewing R&D plans, proposals, and projects with the team.Jeremiah earned his PhD from the University of Oregon with Professor Michael Haley where his research involved the synthesis and characterization of phenylacetylene macrocycles and cross-coupling reactions. There he authored nine publications and one book chapter. Dr. Marsden received both a GAAN and IGERT fellowship while at the University of Oregon.
