I work with the Skating Director and Skating Development manager to prepare for events, camps, summits, and get-togethers available to participating members of the Kraken Skating Academy, Learn to Skate, and Emerald Edge programs. Duties include implementing class transfers, event and seasonal scheduling support, setup and takedown, organizing class materials, checking skaters in for group lessons, coordinating off-ice orientation for new students to our program, and communicating rink affairs to other instructors, if/when needed. Recent projects include ensuring the successful rollout of RinkMusic system for skaters on Freestyles and managing check-in for the upcoming season’s first Learn to Skate session.As a group lesson supervisor, I oversee all scheduled classes running simultaneously at multiple levels, monitoring the safety of all those participating. I am responsible for maintaining efficient, high-quality classflow, and evaluating entire classes or individual students to ensure appropriate level placement. As a figure skating instructor, I teach new skating skills to students in Learn to Skate and Emerald Edge, providing constructive feedback to foster improvement in twenty-three levels of the Snowplow Sam, Basic Skills, Free Skate, and Adult curriculums. I specialize in training young children in Snowplow Sam levels and timid adult skaters, often managing multiple levels while developing small lesson plans, and communicating with parents and guardians to better serve skater’s needs. I\'ve recently started working with the youth performance synchronized skating team through KSA, and assisting with the youth competitive, teen, and adult teams. Additionally, I coach and volunteer at various competitions and events, including our signature annual Toe Pick Tournament and Emerald City Figure Skating Summit.
