Manager Capital Outlay Program and Owner\'s Rep for capital projects (program, planning and development, design and construction) for 8 Veterans Home and 2 Veteran Cemeteries throughout the state. California is home to 1.8 million veterans, representing eight percent of the total U.S. veteran population. I am proud to work at the California Department of Veterans Affairs (CalVet) and for our veterans. CalVet offers long-term care to California veterans who are aged or disabled and, under certain circumstances, to spouses and domestic partners of veterans. These services are provided at eight Veterans Homes throughout the state, Redding, Chula Vista, West Los Angeles, Ventura, Lancaster, Barstow, Fresno, and CalVet’s oldest home, built in 1884 (oldest in the United States), is in Yountville in Napa County.
