X-Works is part of “Innovation@Airbus Defence and Space”, which matures innovations from idea to exit stage. Recognising that early market traction is key for the success of emerging businesses, X-Works fosters early customer engagement and regulatory buy-in by means of fast prototyping, preferably in in real-life demonstrations prepared in co-creation sprints together with customers and authorities. In its projects, X-Works takes a 360° approach focused on the value proposition and addressing technological as well as commercial and regulatory aspects – plus the people involved.Being only partially funded by the yearly innovation budgets, X-Works earns more than half its annual spending by acquiring projects from other Airbus entities and, to an increasing extent, also from outside of Airbus.X-Works has a multi-disciplinary team of 10+ people and disposes of hangar and lab space equipped with a variety of machine tools and test devices as well as of office and collaboration areas. Special arrangements with corporate functions such as procurement, finance, IT etc. allow for a fast, agile way of working. X-Works is part of an Airbus-wide network of so-called “ProtoSpaces”.Please check the list attached below for example projects.Main tasks- General management to grow X-Works\' business of innovation-related services- Business development and sales- Delivery of customer demonstrations following design thinking principles and using agile methods- Coaching and direct support to innovators, in particular w.r.t. customer engagement, based on experience gained in previous career steps- Representation of X-Works and Airbus Innovation at internal and external events incl. many VIP visits- Member of the Airbus DS Innovation Management board (overseeing innovation portfolio management, internal and external scouting)- Co-ordination with the innovation community of the wider Airbus Group- Administrative tasks as required (HR, H&S, FM, QM, RM.)
