ABOUT JENS DEGN-ANDERSEN
Throughout more than 15 years of working in the knowledge field I have always taken on new challenges and started things up from scratch. Whether it’s been: the launch of a new National Library in Greenland; rethinking and reshaping the information research, and special library offer in the pharmaceutical industry (Denmark); or developing and maturing KM core activities at Ubisoft.I’m a strategic thinker motivated by challenges and developing new solutions or initiatives to organizational knowledge issues. With my analytical skills I can observe knowledge and information behaviours and flows within an organization to identify main obstacles and enablers for a healthy knowledge culture. While considering people, processes, and technologies I have implemented knowledge management solutions that improved content creation, sharing, and reuse. Successes and failures have taught me the importance of identifying and focusing on the critical knowledge and improving the organizational knowledge culture in terms of trust, motivation and opportunities to share and reuse knowledge.I have good communication skills and have successfully evangelized the importance of dedicated content strategists for more than 20 different production or support teams. Believing in the importance of global standards, sharing, and support I developed a community of practice for the content strategists that include international summits (Montreal, Paris, and virtual), biweekly meetings, a knowledge hub and a spirit of fun, support and caring for each other.I am an experienced trainer (certified online trainer) and have been doing recurrent classroom guest lectures the last 5 years on information architecture and KM for master students at the McGill University.
