ABOUT JENS WINKELMANN
Data Scientist by day, Physicist and book author by night! I am currently working as a Data Scientist at E.ON Digital Technology in Essen, Germany. Besides my Data Science job, I published an academic book on \"Columnar Structures of Spheres - Fundamentals and Applications\"(link below). Previously, I worked at Vodafone where I leveraged Large Language Models (LLMs) to improve their customer service.I obtained a PhD in Physics from Trinity College Dublin, Ireland (funded by the Irish Research Council) where I published a good number of peer-reviewed articles on packing problems. I investigated the packing of spheres inside a cylinder by employing a range of optimisation algorithm.I graduated with a B.Sc. as well as a M.Sc. in Physics from TU Dortmund, Germany. Throughout my studies, I gained teaching experience in Dublin as well as in Dortmund and worked as a summer student in Jülich, Germany.
