During my time at BDO, I have served both private and public clients on projects related to financial reporting and technical accounting. Through these projects, I have:• Assisted both public and private clients in preparing financial statements and footnote disclosures.• Assisted both public and private companies with purchase price accounting for M&A activity, which typically involves preparing an ASC 805 technical accounting memo, a walk across from closing to opening balance sheet, and all journal entries related to the transactions.• Served as an interim accounting manager for a publicly traded company for 8 months. During this time, the Company completed an IPO and went public. • Prepared technical accounting memos for many different types of transactions including debt extinguishment, debt modification, accounting for a variety of different types of stock-based compensation under ASC718, variable interest entity analyses under ASC 810, revenue recognition under ASC 606.• Prepared detailed calculation schedules and journal entries to support the technical accounting memos.• Developed relationships with clients by identifying and recommending process improvements to improve efficiency internally and to better facilitate external audits.• Provided audit-readiness support to private clients going through a first-time audit.• Managed teams of varying sizes (up to 5 direct reports) to provide deliverables timely and meet challenging client deadlines.
