ABOUT JENNY OAKES

I specialise in providing transport and development planning advice and guidance to private developers and the public sector. I have a good appreciation of transport policy and relevant highway design standards and have led and contributed to the preparation of planning application documentation including Transport Assessments, Travel Plans, Design Guides and Appeal Statements for numerous sites across England. I am conscientious and articulate in communicating my advice regarding the transport impacts of development and the need for interventions and mitigation measures for all modes. I work collaboratively with clients and planning authorities to reach common agreement and ensure that development schemes are appropriately tested and mitigated.In addition to appraising individual development sites, I have managed and delivered numerous corridor studies to evaluate the cumulative impacts of development, test growth scenarios and identify appropriate mitigation schemes to assist National Highways and Local Authorities in their forward planning of major schemes. I am also well versed in the development of transport strategies to assist clients in delivering their growth agenda and managing their assets to facilitate development. I am able to use and interpret a range of datasets to compile a transport evidence base including outputs from several modelling software packages which I use to inform these studies. I am an experienced project manager overseeing the financial and resource management of projects as well as their technical delivery. I act as a key contact for clients on projects and frameworks and build good relationships through which I have won additional commissions. I currently work on a flexible basis and as a result am highly organised and efficient at managing workload and resources to achieve project delivery.
