With more than 15 years of experience in broadcast journalism and health care media relations, I’m not afraid to take the lead on projects and can do so with little guidance. I have strong and respected working relationships with journalists at local, national and international media outlets. During the COVID-19 pandemic, I managed media requests regarding the first COVID-19 lung transplants performed in the United States at Northwestern Medicine, which sparked media interest around the world with more than earned media stories reaching an estimated 9.2 billion people. I also handled media requests for the Northwestern Medicine Comprehensive COVID-19 Center, which gained national and international media attention with front page stories. With a background in broadcast journalism, I\'m able to produce, shoot and edit video and photos for media. I write press releases, organize press conferences and assist in crisis communications while collaborating with Northwestern Medicine\'s marketing, internal communications and social media teams. Building professional, trusting relationships with physicians, nurses and staff to find impactful stories that can be used externally and internally is one of my biggest strengths. I also manage a team of media relations specialists, overseeing their growth and success.
