About Jennifer Kenyon Gentry

I have a unique background combining operations and relationships: I know how to uplift and support people to accomplish goals. My early career was with organizations that needed strong organizational skills, information management, and problem-solving prowess. More recently, I have used my soft skills as a thought partner with organizations and people with lived experience with child welfare. • Managing 14 projects with 6 partners with a budget of $1.9M. This requires building trusting relationships; identifying cross-systems, cross-branch, and cross-partnership opportunities; and advancing child welfare practice, state policy reform, and court improvement. • Spearheading the development of a process to engage people with lived experience in child welfare. The final process met internal requirements, and the needs of external partners, while respecting the lived experts. • Facilitating the Business Process Mapping (BPM) of a complex, internal process that touched multiple teams and departments. This led to clearly visualizing improvements, efficiencies, and redundancies. • Frequently asked to write reports and recommendations to executive leadership. • Leading a project to secure a contract management system. This included reviewing products, interviewing vendors, scheduling demos with users, and gathering their feedback. I also uses my expertise as a volunteer. I am a Child Advocate for children in child welfare and proud that all the children I have advocated for either returned to living with their parent or relatives. She was recognized in 2017 for her work with a medically fragile toddler. I am the 2024 Vice President for KID Connect, a non-profit that fills unique needs for children in foster care—needs that can’t be met by the state agency or private providers. I have used my hard skills to benefit non-profits. As rental manager for a club, I increased rentals by 318% over 5 years (including 2 COVID years when large gatherings were banned). In 2007, I chaired the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life in Northshore, WA, raising over for the first time in this community.
