Academic Supervisor and Module Leader @Trinity Laban
As Module Leader for Creative Research Pathways, I support the second year Musical Theatre students to explore non-performing, creative roles in theatre.Key responsibilities and contributions:→ Module leadership: leading on a hybrid delivery model, designing online lectures and tutorials while curating in-person industry-led workshops with guest professionals from my existing and developing professional network.→ Practice-based pedagogy: helping students shape their creative identity as makers, facilitators, and collaborators→ Academic confidence: guiding students with their knowledge and practice of reflective frameworks, practice research methodologies, and empowering them to build confidence in their academic skillsAs an Academic Supervisor for the Creative Research Project, I support third-year Musical Theatre students in the development and delivery of substantial independent research projects, combining academic enquiry with original creative practice.Drawing on my extensive experience across theatre, musical theatre, music, education, and professional creative work, I am able to support a wide range of student specialisms.Key responsibilities and contributions: → Feedback and critical dialogue that empowers students to take ownership of their creative identity→ Academic mentorship across dissertation projects (including desk-based, or practice-based research, reflective writing)→ Support in shaping artistic vision/research intention into structured academic enquiries→ Preparation for future postgraduate study or entry into the professional creative industriesMy supervision style combines academic rigour with care and communication, centred on the student’s evolving voice as a practitioner-researcher.My approach to both modules is grounded in industry relevance, creative care, and empowering students to see themselves as active contributors to the evolving landscape of musical theatre.
