ABOUT JENNY RUTTER

Jenny Rutter is Chief Executive of The British Textile Biennial, Associate Director of The Super Slow Way, and Chair of Creative Lancashire. As a producer with 2 decades experience developing culture and creativity in the Northwest. Her career has included local government regeneration and creative industry roles as well as managing and producing a wide variety of arts programmes, including major festivals and events. Jenny’s approach to her work stems from her belief in the transformational power of culture as a tool to drive social change and shape positive futures for marginalised people and places. As part of the The Super Slow Way team, Jenny has developed some significant new additions to Lancashires cultural offer. The British Textile Biennial which delivers a programme of art exploring the politics of cloth across the county, presented within the impressive infrastructure that supported the cotton industry & with the community that has textiles in its DNA. And The Super Slow Way’s ambitious programme of commissions and residencies working with communities, partners and heritage assets to re-imagine a 20 mile stretch of the Leeds-Liverpool Canal corridor as a new Linear Park for Pennine Lancashire. As Chair of Creative Lancashire - Jenny supports the team employed by Lancashire County Council to deliver a service dedicated to helping raise the profile of Lancashire\'s creative talent and to harnessing the economic potential in companies and organisations working in the creative sector.
