About Jenny Woo Umhofer
Like so many parents, Jenny Umhofer wants to see a world in which higher education is accessible to all young people. Never one to be content letting a vision simply remain a dream, Jenny has dedicated her career to being a catalyst for bold, impactful action. With over two decades of experience in college admissions reviewing thousands of applications for UCLA, Caltech, and Scripps College, Jenny has always recognized the importance of creating a level playing field for students. Now, through her company Colledge and its initiative ColledgeNEXT, she is taking her wisdom to the masses. As Jenny rose through the ranks of the admissions world, earning titles such as Assistant Director of College Admissions and then Associate Director of College Admissions, she always had the needs of potential students at the forefront of her mind. In 2010, she achieved this by founding Colledge, the premiere college admissions consultancy serving students and families from a wide range of demographics, needs and goals. Always encouraging and ever-vivacious, the Colledge staff works 1:1 with students to empower them on their admissions journey with a focus on presenting their best selves to the best right-fit colleges.Now, through ColledgeNEXT, an AI-driven platform super-powering the 1:1 college counseling process, Jenny is setting out to democratize the VIP experience that she created through Colledge. Through this innovative tool, ColledgeNEXT will provide all students and parents with better information about the college admissions process and better access to higher education— no matter what.
