ABOUT JENNY WEINER

Orthopedic inpatient nurse practitioner, I care for patients post-operatively and those admitted for trauma. Graduated with my DNP from Ohio State in 2019. My project focused on decreasing opioid use for kids with lower extremity injuries. I also get to precept students and provide RN education for the staff nurses that I work with. I have been published in a peer reviewed journal. I have given presentations at national conferences. In addition, I have given lectures to OSU PNP students and to nurses at Nationwide Childrens. I am passionate about providing evidence-based care to all of my patients! I am the current chair of the Orthopedic Quality Council. My current quality improvement project is examining compliance with recommended dosing of opioids post-hospitalization in an effort to reduce harm and improve patient safety by not over prescribing opioids at discharge. I was recently elected as Secretary for the Ohio Chapter of the National Association of Pediatric Nurse Practitioners in addition to being the continuing education chair. I am planning our first conference back in person since before the pandemic and am excited to reconnect with colleagues! Tips for conference planning definitely accepted!
