About Jennifer Kwok
I’m a Bioinformatics and Computational Biology student at UC San Diego who enjoys finding patterns in data and using them to answer real biological questions. At the Glass Lab, I work with large RNA-Seq and ChIP-Seq datasets using Python, R, and Bash to study how gene regulation and epigenetic changes relate to disease. Recently, I expanded the Geneformer model from 2,048 to 4,096 genes to improve the accuracy and scale of in-silico knockout testing. That project taught me how to build better data pipelines, problem-solve on high-performance clusters, and communicate results clearly across my team. Outside of research, I’ve taught swimming for several years. Planning lessons and helping people build confidence in the water taught me patience, adaptability, and how to communicate ideas clearly. These experiences have shaped how I approach collaboration and problem-solving in every setting. I love combining biology, computation, and creativity to make sense of complex systems, and I’m excited to keep growing in data-driven roles across biotechnology, healthcare, and tech where data can be used to make a real impact.
