About Jennifer Thompson

For my entire career, I have dedicated my professional life to helping individuals live longer and more satisfying, healthy lives. As a nurse practitioner, I have been committed to sharing of knowledge to empower people to be the healthiest version of themselves and to meet them where they are in life. My career as a nurse practitioner has focused on the care of patients with cardiovascular disease. While working in the inpatient and outpatient setting, I have experience in many areas of cardiology including general, structural, interventional, heart failure, electrophysiology, and stress testing. Most recently, I have focused on electrophysiology, including arrhythmia management, device management and periprocedural management for ablations and devices. Much of my work has been caring for people with atrial fibrillation and addressing the impact of lifestyle on atrial fibrillation. This was the focus of my recently completed DNP Scholarly Project titled \"The Impact of Risk Factor Modification Education on Quality of Life in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation.\" I have also served as Sub-Investigator and Research Coordinator on multiple clinical trials in electrophysiology.In addition to clinical responsibilities, I recently supported a team of highly skilled Advanced Practice Providers in a Director-level position in a cardiology practice. Before this leadership role, I served as Executive Director of the New Hampshire Nurse Practitioner Association, representing over 2,600 nurse practitioners on the state and federal level to advance healthcare initiatives. Both positions have provided the opportunity to create and implement strategic plans to advance care across varied populations, as well as identifying and engaging stakeholders, across multiple sectors, to collectively work towards and achieve identified goals. In addition, I currently enjoy teaching as Adjunct Faculty in the graduate Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Rivier University.
