About Jennifer Polimer

Have you ever offered to help someone and it changed your life? I began my journey in higher education during the second semester of my freshman year in college. I offered to help two students on my floor, who happened to be on the college\'s program board, set up their event. This event happened to be one of the biggest events on campus. After that, I was hooked. I knew that campus activities was the career path that I wanted to pursue.During my two years in graduate school, I was fortunate enough to study and work at an innovative and top-performing university where I was able to continue to fine tune my event planning/management, team building, and programming skills.My post-graduate experience allowed me the opportunity to work at two different colleges in two different states. These institutions, and the experiences that they both afforded me, allowed me to become an experienced director of new student orientation and event planner with a demonstrated history of working in the higher education industry. My career path changed in the summer of 2022 when an opportunity to work in human resources became available. This career has allowed me to still work with orientation, train and development people, and plan events, which are all areas of focus that I love about my work. More specifically this new path allows me to ensure that new employees have an impactful onboarding experience, engage current employees in targeted learning and development initiatives, and to plan events that show people just how important they are to the organization.My areas of specialization and professional skills include: Orientation, Training, Facilitation, Event Planning, Project Management, Employee Engagement, Career Development, Retention Strategies, First Year Development & Transition, Student Development, and Student LeadershipContact me at j•••••••@dean.edu
