Oversee day to day operations of an independently operated Foundation supporting the workforce development efforts of the residential construction industry with a budget of $2 million. The Foundation has an executive committee, board of directors and operates approximately 17 grants at a given time.• Strengthen relationships with member businesses, high schools, community college, local cities, chambers and other related nonprofits. Served on community boards and committees as requested.• Developed and have expanded collaborative relationships with local, state and national partners• Opened 5th location of BuildStrong Academy (a national program) offering a 9-week construction training program• Serve as spokesperson for the Foundation with increased news coverage• Developed a strategic plan and revised the mission and vision to make the Foundation the leader in the homebuilding space• Built a reserves account to sustain operations in the event of no grants with over $200K projected to be set aside in the first year• Oversee the grant related programming using federal, state, local and private funds• Align technology to work more efficiently• Raised over $600K in funds during my first year• Develop policies and procedures for the Foundation• Worked with local government officials and staff on permitting for BuildStrong Academy and assisted Sacramento County and the City of Sacramento on items related to workforce development• Created Board materials and brought key emerging issues and suggestions for future direction to directors as needed• Cultivated a culture of diversity, teamwork, communication and transparency• Ensured that proper guidelines and laws were followed in financial reporting and creation of policies and procedures• Attended events to interact with membership, gain an understanding of their needs and share the story of the Foundation
