I’m grateful every day to serve as Vice President of Marketing & Communications at OETA (Oklahoma Educational Television Authority), Oklahoma’s PBS affiliate.For me, this isn’t just a job, it’s an opportunity to use my skills to serve something bigger than myself. Public media has such a unique and powerful role: it informs, educates, inspires, and connects people. I feel incredibly lucky to be part of an organization that’s mission-driven to its core, reaching Oklahomans of all ages and backgrounds with free, trusted content and resources.In my role, I oversee marketing and communications across broadcast, digital, social media, print, and community outreach. I work alongside a talented team to:• Create thoughtful, cohesive branding and design that reflects OETA’s values.• Craft messaging that connects with families, educators, community leaders, and lifelong learners.• Manage our website, social media, email marketing, publications, and promos to keep audiences informed and engaged.• Design campaigns and events that bring OETA’s content directly to the people we serve, especially in rural and underserved communities.• Lead media relations and public relations, helping tell the stories that matter most about OETA’s work.• Use data and insights to guide strategies and improve outcomes.• Collaborate with internal teams, PBS, partners, and community organizations to amplify our shared goals.• Plan and execute community events that bring OETA’s mission to life across the state.• Mentor and support a communications team that’s passionate, collaborative, and committed.I’ve spent my career seeking out opportunities to grow and serve in meaningful ways—and this work feels like a natural extension of that.
