Connected library patrons (and staff members) with community resources and other social services • Coached ALD staff in provided inclusive customer service to such patrons as those with mental illnesses, persons experiencing homelessness, individuals with developmental disabilities, and new Americans • Collaborated with Safety Team to provide resources to patrons, as a means to avoid bans and ensure that all members of the public have equal access to the library • Developed and facilitated trainings on Trauma Informed Care • Chaired (or co-chaired) the DEI Competencies and De-escalation & Trauma Informed Care Committees • Participated in policy discussions such as including DEI issues in the strategic plan, creating DEI focus areas as part of the LS 2.0 project, and developing more effective outreach strategics for meeting the unique needs of Kelver and Davies patrons • Helped to add structure to the new CRS program through 1) drafting guidelines regarding Child Protective Service referrals, passive informed consent, confidentiality, patron documentation, and other legal issues, 2) designing staff and patron brochures, 3) creating the CRS section of the Knowledge Library, and 4) collaborating on scheduling guidelines to best meet the needs of all library branches
