About Jennifer Newton
I am a seasoned public relations professional specializing in digital media, integrated marketing communications and strategic planning. My experience and skills include business development, team management, public relations, corporate communications, cause marketing, internal communications, branding, leadership, event planning, blogging, content development and copywriting.Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with and for notable clients such as Murad Skincare, Michael Stars, Aloxxi Professional Haircare, Mazda, Nissan, City of Hope, the American Cancer Society, Revlon Run/Walk, Hill + Knowlton and Impact Giving. I am currently focusing my time helping small businesses and entrepreneurs achieve their goals through strategic communications as the founder and owner of Ideations Communications.At CSULB, I teach public relations classes and serve as a department academic adviser. I am also the business, advertising and public relations adviser for the student-run publications Daily Forty-Niner, DIG MAG and DÍG en Español; faculty adviser for the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA) Long Beach chapter; and internship supervisor for various departmental social media teams across campus. Additionally, I coached the nationally ranked 2018 Bateman Case Study Competition Team.I received my bachelor’s degree in journalism with an emphasis in public relations and a minor in psychology from CSULB. I also hold a degree in apparel manufacturing management from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles. I live in Long Beach with my husband, daughter, one dog and two cats.
