Supervise a team of 13 Claim Intake Specialists in a corporate administrative production environment. Manage and direct incoming claim correspondence for the team to create Life, STD, LTD, Paid Family Medical Leave, Hospital Indemnity, Critical Illness and Accident claims to be further adjudicated. Oversee medical record request process for approx 450 claims staff. Manage medical records vendor to ensure terms of service are being met, reconcile monthly invoices and provide regular correspondence regarding claim experience. Provide excellent customer service to callers by de-escalating situations and providing feedback to team members as needed. Ensure that individual and team scorecard data is updated on a weekly basis, reviewing with each team member in real-time. Hold team members accountable for ensuring completeness of claim files, necessary documentation has been added to claim files and business records. Build rapport with team members and peers to influence efficiency and quality in positive ways and get work done through the team. Process weekly payroll, monitoring paid leave balances (vacation and paid time off) appropriately. Conduct performance reviews on a quarterly basis, assessing and addressing performance in real-time.
