About Jennifer Ambrose

The aviation regulatory landscape is complex, particularly for new entrants like UAS and AAM. I worked for the FAA for nearly twenty years. In that time, I drafted and interpreted our aviation statutes and regulations, and had the opportunity to take part in the development and integration of new technology into the airspace. As a program manager in the UAS Integration Office I put together the FAA\'s first ever Strategic Plan for integrating drones into the airspace. As that understanding and strategy evolved over time and I moved back into the FAA\'s Office of Chief Counsel, I was fortunate enough to work on major rulemakings for drones to enable operations over people and night operations for small UAS, remote identification, powered-lift, and Safety Management Systems (SMS). As FAA\'s lead attorney for UAS regulatory issues, I helped put in place the Low Altitude Authorization and Notification Capability (LAANC) that would go on to reduce the time it took to get airspace authorization for sUAS from a month to less than 30 seconds. As manager of the Airworthiness law branch, I managed a team focused on regulation of aircraft safety, maintenance, and aircraft noise and emissions compliance. I\'ve worked with repair stations, manufacturers, and operators. I understand the FAA, its mission, and its people. Now I want to bring that understanding and expertise to the private sector. I founded Aviation Aerospace Law PLLC to help aviation organizations meet their regulatory requirements in a way that foregrounds safety but also meets their operational and business goals. We can help you get regulatory relief, set up your SMS, figure out which regulations apply to your operation. Show me your concept of operations and I\'ll help you work through what regulatory provisions apply and how to meet them in a cost-effective and safe manner. Struggling through the certification process and not sure where your application is stuck? I can help. Are you a realtor or general contractor who just wants to use a drone to take photos of your work but don\'t want to hire out every time? I can help you get set up and ready to go. Are you a repair station thinking of getting EASA certification in addition to your part 145 certification but aren\'t sure how to meet EASA SMS requirements? I can help. Are you a local government trying to regulate land use and privacy without running into federal preemption issues, or trying to do public aircraft operations? I have extensive expertise in drone regulations and the guidelines of preemption. I\'m looking forward to working together.
