ABOUT JENNIFER DAHNE

I’m a licensed clinical psychologist, tenured Professor in the Addiction Sciences Division of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), and the Melvyn Berlinsky Distinguished Endowed Chair in Cancer Research. My research focuses on developing and testing digital health interventions that expand access to evidence-based care for depression, substance use disorders, and related behavioral health concerns.This focus on real-world impact extends beyond my academic work into institutional leadership. I serve as Director of Research Innovation and Integration within MUSC’s Office of the Vice President for Research, where I work across the enterprise to align teams and initiatives that support research integration. Within the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, I direct the Innovation Sciences Unit, which translates academic research into practical, scalable tools. I also hold leadership roles in MUSC’s Telehealth Center of Excellence and the South Carolina Clinical and Translational Research Institute, where I contribute to efforts that move evidence into routine care.Complementing my academic and leadership roles, I am an entrepreneur and have co-founded two digital health startups focused on scaling evidence-based technology. I developed Moodivate, a mobile app based on Behavioral Activation that was evaluated in a large, 22-clinic trial and published in JAMA Internal Medicine. I also led the development of MyTrials, a digital platform that supports remote biomarker capture in decentralized clinical trials.Across all of my work, I’m committed to bridging innovation and implementation and developing behavioral health tools that are evidence-based, accessible, scalable, and sustainable.
