About Jennifer Benson

As a therapeutic educational consultant and certified parent coach, I guide families with adolescents or young adults who are struggling with behavioral, emotional, social, or academic challenges. As a result, their school and/or family life suffers. They often have exhausted their local therapeutic resources and require an alternative path. After a very thorough assessment process, I assist families to find the support they need for their child in the form of a variety of therapeutic programs and schools. I am uniquely qualified to assist families with this process. As a clinician with a Master of Social Work, I have the clinical assessment skills to evaluate the educational and mental health needs of my clients as well as therapeutic schools and programs. I am also a parent of children who required therapeutic placement and bring understanding and compassion to the process of placing a child in a therapeutic setting. I am intimately familiar with therapeutic schools and programs throughout the country, visiting over 100 per year. I can assure you that there are a variety of clinically sound and safe choices to meet the needs of your child and family.I am a member of the Independent Educational Consultant Association (IECA), the Therapeutic Consulting Association (TCA), NATSAP, and COPAA.
