Operationalized strategic plan by engaging board in strategy workshop to define language, achieve consensus around divergent issues, and refine goals into a prioritized, actionable roadmap. Resulted in abbreviated plan with measurable KPIs, that enabled structured innovation and alignment of staff and volunteer initiatives with agreed-upon strategic goals. Enhanced bench strength of next generation magazine writers by gaining consensus around shifting to a stipend-based model, which was enabled through cost savings in production. Resulted in increased diversity of writer pool, and enhanced engagement of young professionals. Operationalized strategic plan with measurable KPIs tracked to department goals and owned by specific staff. Secured buy-in by educating staff on the “why” of their work, and tying outcomes to incentive compensation. Resulted in achievement of all KPIs and increased employee engagement.
