The Strategic Analysis, Research & Training (START) Center is a research consulting group established in 2011 by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) and the University of Washington (UW) Department of Global Health. Since 2011, START’s expert researchers have completed more than 200 projects for clients including the BMGF, the World Health Organization (WHO), Abbott Labs, Boston Scientific, and more.My role consists of, Training Development & Event Management- Serve as the DEI subject matter expert & maintain awareness of DEI best practices and industry standards- Manage the planning, development and implementation of new programs and initiatives that are responsive to the needs of diverse and underrepresented graduate students- Coordinate and execute events and workshops, including marketing and event logistics.Center Operations, and Policy and Procedure Oversight - Triage emerging challenges through independent and creative problem solving towards creation of a sustainable and collaborative learning space- Respond to inquiries about program offerings, events, and requests for consulting or collaboration- Design and implement standard operating procedures for Center-wide activities and operations with Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion frameworksCenter Financial Management: Budgets and Grants (Databases Used: WorkDay, MyFD, ARIBA, Access, Excel)- Develop processes and procedures specific to the START program for personnel\'s intranet- Monitors and reconciles the START parent grant/budget, initiates purchases- Maintain diligent shadow budgets and projections, monitoring to ensure compliance with funding source and University regulations and policy
