About Jennifer Worrall

Jennifer Worrall is currently a software developer at the Obama Foundation. She previously served as Community Energy Lab’s CTO and Principal Investigator. She has two decades of experience integrating simplified and user-friendly structures into complex building systems, distributed energy resources, sensor and equipment data, APIs, information technology infrastructure and human inputs to create elegant, functional and easy-to-use advanced controls software. Jennifer got her start in the energy industry at Southern Company, specializing in Energy Management Systems. Her role architecting, migrating and managing a Databackbone application with hundreds ofroutes, millions of data records often changing every 6 seconds, and high fidelity commercial eDNA timeseries software for research and reporting earned her a Top Performer award company-wide. She went onto lead engineering for a microgrid controls company, help patent a FractalGrid technology, implement amicrogrid through a California Energy Commission Grant, develop powerful behind-the-meter digital twinand energy management software suites, and perform predictive modeling for microgrids and other renewable energy projects.
