My career is focused on strengthening democracy by to empowering citizens to make positive change in their communities and their countries, both in the United States and internationally. I am a committed and goal-oriented professional who excels in leadership, technical, and new business roles. My technical expertise includes civil society development, civic education, democracy and governance, civic engagement, organizational development, gender empowerment, and inclusion of vulnerable and marginalized groups. My experience includes more than a decade in senior management roles, where I contributed to organizations’ visions, strategic directions, and internal governance. I bring a proven ability to lead diverse teams and multimillion-dollar portfolios. I am skilled in project management and design, team training and mentoring, monitoring and evaluation, donor and client relations, technical advising, and portfolio development. Over the course of my career I have secured more than $450 million in new awards from the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), U.S. State Department, U.S. Department of Labor, World Bank, foundations, and other funders. Geographic experience: I have headed and advised portfolios in Africa (Angola, Nigeria, Sudan), Asia (Indonesia, Mongolia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Uzbekistan), Europe (Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, Kosovo, Russia), the Middle East (Jordan), and the Americas (U.S. and Mexico), as well as global initiatives.
