ABOUT JENNIFER WEEKS
I\'m Senior Environment and Cities Editor at The Conversation, a media startup that publishes articles written by academics and edited by journalists for a general audience. The Conversation\'s mission is to improve the public discourse by providing in-depth news analysis and commentary. I have also worked for more than a decade as an independent writer covering nature, environment, energy, science and health topics. My clients have included consumer and trade magazines, web sites, government agencies, nonprofit groups and educational projects. Among others, I\'ve written for the Washington Post, Boston Globe Magazine, Slate, Discover, Science News for Students, Audubon, Popular Mechanics, National Wildlife, Preservation, Backpacker and High Country News. Before entering journalism I worked for fifteen years as a Congressional staffer, public-interest lobbyist and program manager in the nonprofit sector.
