ABOUT JENNIFER TRAN

I’m a first-generation and second-year Urban Learning student with a minor in Urban Studies at California State University of Fullerton. I’m involved in school events and clubs including Titan Future Teachers (TFT) and Vice President of Student California Teachers Association (SCTA) to personalize my journey as a future educator. Additionally, I am passionate about advocating and voting on the behalf of students of the College of Education as a Board of Director under the nonprofit organization Associated Students Inc. Besides being a full-time student, I work as a mentor at GGUSD for at-risk students.Before beginning my education at CSUF, I discovered my passion in education when mentoring fellow peers and younger students. Prior to the pandemic, I was part of a mentoring program in my local temple where I taught an introductory course of Vietnamese to younger children. I was also a Kumon tutor who worked with younger children with their English and math skills. I discovered how rewarding it was to make such a positive impact on many adolescents’ academic journey which prompted me to pursue this career. I’m an aspiring educator for primary and secondary education. My experiences have allowed me to gain and develop strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. I strive to improve my ability to promote academic and life-long success for students.
