ABOUT JENNIFER TEAGUE

Jennifer Teague is an experienced researcher and educator with executive-level experience in standards and in leading the development, launch and operation of large university-based interdisciplinary research and innovation programs involving academic, private and public sector partners. In her current role, Jennifer is the Vice President, Research and Education at CSA Group. In the Research program, her team explores the potential for new standards solutions and provides evidence to inform and accelerate standards development. The Education program helps to increase user knowledge of standards and guides their application in workplaces and communities. Jennifer is an adjunct professor in the School of Kinesiology & Health Science, York University. In 2013, Jennifer worked with the University of Toronto and York University, where she led a large community-based initiative on type 2 diabetes. This was followed by the application and launch of a large research program on personalized health technologies (FedDev Ontario - Health Ecosphere -$34M). The success of this program saw Jennifer leading the application and launch of a research program on biological and computer vision with York University (CFREF- Vision: Science to Applications (VISTA)-$120M).Before joining York University, Jennifer was an Assistant Professor at the University of Waterloo, Faculty of Health Sciences. Her research focused on biomechanics of human movement. She held funding from NSERC, NCE-AUTO21, CFI and ORF. Prior to her faculty position at the University of Waterloo, Jennifer worked as a Postdoctoral Fellow, conducting research in the area of spine biomechanics. Jennifer has published her research in the areas of anthropometry, muscle fatigue and low back pain and has supervised students at the graduate and undergraduate level. Jennifer has taught courses at the graduate and undergraduate level since 1998 at the University of Waterloo, McMaster University, Brock University and Sheridan College. Courses include biomechanics, anatomy and physiology, biophysical instrumentation and signal processing, and occupational health and safety. Jennifer has consulted on a variety of medical and science-writing projects including breakthrough cancer pain, medical mycology, bipolar depression, cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, catheter-related bloodstream infections, spondyloarthritis, and home oxygen therapy. She holds degrees from McMaster University (PhD, MSc) and the University of Ottawa (BSc).
