ABOUT JENNIFER CHOI

Jennifer Choi is an independent trustee of the Morningstar Funds. She is also currently a Professorial Lecturer in Law at the George Washington University School of Law teaching Regulation of Investment Funds and Investment Advisers. Jennifer is an experienced former executive with expertise in evaluating financial, regulatory, legal, and business risk as it pertains to mutual funds, securities, and the financial markets. She has close to thirty years of experience in the public policy arena for the financial services industry with a focus on regulatory and policy trends and strategic engagement with policymaking bodies. Jennifer also provides a global perspective with extensive experience working on international issues in Europe and Asia. Prior to her appointment to the board, Jennifer was Senior Policy Adviser at the global firm of Ropes & Gray. Previously, she was chief counsel of ICI Global, heading the global policy work for the Investment Company Institute (the leading trade association representing regulated investment funds). During her 16 years at ICI, she held various roles, including associate general counsel for global capital markets policy and associate counsel for international policy. From 1995 to Jennifer held various positions at the US Securities and Exchange Commission, including assistant director in the Division of Investment Management and special counsel in the Division of Market Regulation (now the Division of Trading and Markets). At the SEC, she received the Martha Platt Award for dedication, excellence, and integrity. She began her legal career as an associate in the securities and corporate practice group at Wilmer, Cutler & Pickering (now Wilmer Hale). Jennifer\'s work style can be characterized as driving excellence and being proactive, collaborative, and forward-thinking.
