Sources and negotiates specified requirements or seeks alternatives from a variety of usual and unusual sources to resolve issues.• Makes procurement decisions and recommendations based on price, availability, transportation and delivery schedule. Provides recommendations and analysis of proposed cost savings solutions for customer and management selection.• Liaises with shipboard and/or shoreside personnel, suppliers and logistics to ensure proper ordering and timely delivery of goods and services to operational vessels or projects without interruption.• Monitors supplier performance to ensure consistent service, high quality and low costs of goods/services, and addresses deviations with management.• Processes emergency orders for goods/services required for compliance with USPH and USCG. Obtains all necessary approvals and completes required transportation forms in a timely manner to meet the operational/project needs.• Processes contract orders in accordance to established terms and conditions.• Responsible for researching and resolving issues including delivery failures, delivery discrepancies and invoices in disputes.• Responsible for meeting with customers regularly to provide status updates on open orders.• Travels to visit ships, suppliers or project site for loadings, audits, etc.• Performs assigned duties in accordance to company’s guidelines and policies, and delivers department’s goals and objectives.
