About Jennifer Manganello

Jennifer Manganello is a health communication scholar who uses theories, concepts, and methods from the multiple fields including public health and communication. She has applied a broad range of skills and methodologies (quantitative, qualitative, mixed methods) to conduct both primary data collection and secondary data analysis. Her research focuses on health literacy and helping people navigate complex care systems. She also studies the effects of media on attitudes, behaviors, and policies that put people, especially youth, at risk for negative health outcomes. She seeks to identify how to best provide easy to understand health information to various populations including parents and youth, especially those with disabilities.
