Work with outside legal counsel to analyze legal documents including Settlements, Summons, Complaints, and Judgments, to determine specific issues and course of action. Handle lawsuits from pre-litigation to resolution on charged-off accounts, including SPLASH and Happy Money loans, all types of personal loans, share accounts, indirect and direct auto loans and credit cards, to ensure maximum collection recovery- Conduct investigations to identify suspicious activity, including fraud, gather evidentiary information to support our legal case in court to secure a Judgment for the account balance- Maintain case files from when the account is referred to our legal team, through the life of the court proceedings, to payment in full- Draft narrative summaries of the account to document and report to the courts that the lawsuit is justified and all recovery attempts have been exhausted- Perform integral asset searches on charged-off accounts to recover losses- Conduct skip tracing to obtain contact information and location of members to serve lawsuits upon them, resulting in locating and securing vehicle repossessions and recouping assets- Participate in department projects and initiatives, such as being the key participant for creating and updating my department\'s procedures- Appear in court as a witness to attest to Credit Union account documents, as necessary- Negotiate payment plans and settlements for pre-judgment case files.
