I focus on working with children, teens, and adults who struggle with spelling, reading, and writing. Over the past 25 years, I’ve worked with children through general classroom instruction, private tutoring, and substitute teaching in general education and special education classes. I also spent 10 years homeschooling my own children.I\'m experienced with the Barton Reading & Spelling System: a proven Orton-Gillingham based program for children, teens and adults with dyslexia. Several of my students have completed the first 2 levels of the Barton System and are working in Level 3. I will be certified in Levels 1-3 shortly. I\'m also trained in the Lindamood-Bell LiPS program. I\'ve used this program with several children who are not ready for Barton or any OG system. Orton-Gillingham based programs are considered to be the best practice for working with children who could have or have been diagnosed with dyslexia. No other program is proven to help a child, teen, or adult with dyslexia.
