About Jennifer Larimore
am available for consultant work around the following ideas:AI in teaching and learning. I have taught and presented on AI in academics, completed an AI for Teaching and Learning course and developed an AI-brain research course. I am equipped and experienced to help faculty design AI-integrated assignments, policies, and workshops.STEM and Neuroscience curriculum design. My CV demonstrates my extensive course development in biology, neuroscience, professional development, and CURE-based labs. I am equipped to consult on course redesign, active learning, and outcomes-based curriculum mapping.Women in STEM and belonging initiatives. My CV highlights my work at women’s colleges, STEM mentoring with women and underrepresented students, and leadership in programs supporting underrepresented students. I can consult on recruitment, retention, and success for women and underrepresented students in STEM.Agnes Scott College, Department of Biology Decatur, GeorgiaProfessorWith the work of undergraduates in my lab, I am exploring the roles of BLOC-1 dependent endosomal trafficking in parvalbumin-positive GABAergic internueorn migration and localization in the hippocampus. Interestingly, subunits of the BLOC-1 complex have decreased protein levels in patients with Schizophrenia and in Autism Spectrum Disorder. Emory University, Department of Cell Biology Atlanta, Georgia2008-July 2012Postdoctoral Fellow, Victor Faundez, M.D, Ph.D, mentorI explored the role of two synaptic vesicle complexes, BLOC-1 and AP-3, in vesicle trafficking regulation from the neuronal cell body to the synapse. To do this we utilized fixed microscopy of coronal brain sections, primary cultures, and cell lines. We also prepared biochemical brain fractions to analyze protein levels by immunoblot.UAB, Department of Neurobiology, Birmingham, AlabamaDissertation Research, Anne Theibert, PhD, mentorMy dissertation project used molecular biology techniques with neurosecretory PC-12 cells, primary cultured neurons, and organotypic hippocampal slice cultures to investigate the role of Arf GAPs in post-Golgi trafficking and neuronal development and differentiation. Collaboration with Chris Chapleau, Lucas Pozzo-Miller, PhD, advisorThis project examined the effects of BDNF expression and trafficking in primary cultures expressing wild type or mutant MECP2, the gene associated with Rett syndrome.
